Stockhausen/Kagel Festival (6 & 7 February)

Karlheinz Stockhausen (22 August 1928 – 5 December 2007) was a German composer, widely acknowledged by critics as one of the most important but also controversial composers of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Another critic calls him “one of the great visionaries of 20th-century music” (Hewett 2007). He is known for his ground-breaking work in electronic music, aleatory (controlled chance) in serial composition, and musical spatialization.

Mauricio Kagel (24 December 1931 – 18 September 2008) was a German-Argentine composer who was notable for his interest in developing the theatrical side of musical performance.

These visionary composers are presented on 22tracks to highlight the festival by musikFabrik, Ensemble Modern, Nieuw Ensemble, Calefax and Asko|Schönberg. A must see for any serious music fan. On Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 February at the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ in Amsterdam. 22tracks listeners get a 50% discount!

22tracks at Eurosonic / Noorderslag

We were asked by iMMovator to do a short keynote about 22tracks at Eurosonic / Noorderslag. Afterwards we had some good meetings with Buma/Stemra, Buma Cultuur, Spotify and others about that what we do. The future looks bright. To be continued…

This Friday the 22nd we are organizing our third 22tracks get together in the MiNiBAR. Besides us doing the keynote all over for those who weren’t at Eurosonic / Noorderslag we’re delighted to tell you that we added some fresh slides, what those are about? We’ll tell you there while you’ll be able to listen to some wicked tunes from Full Crate, Job de Wit and Henzel (VAgE gASTEN).

Eurosonic Noorderslag
We are invited to present ourselves on the 14th of January (tomorrow) at the New Kids On The Block session held from 14:30 to 15:30 at the Hilversum Media Stad Paviljoen. This session is in Dutch.
